Mayoral Relief Fund

Overview

The Mayoral Relief Fund provides one-off assistance to Stratford District residents (families and individuals) where there is a real demonstrated need. Grants may also be made available to worthy community groups and organisations at the discretion of the District Mayor.

How the fund works

All requests for financial assistance from the fund will be screened by the District Mayor and each case referred to Work and Income. In an extreme emergency situation, where a case is referred by the New Zealand Police or Work and Income, financial assistance may be granted at the discretion of the District Mayor.

How to apply

To apply for the Mayoral Relief Fund, contact the Stratford District Council on 06 765 6099.
