Te Matatini o te Kāhui Maunga
We’re rolling out a big Whakaahurangi, Stratford welcome for Te Matatini o Te Kāhui Maunga!
Taranaki will play host to Te Matatini o Te Kāhui Maunga at Pukekura / Bowl of Brooklands 25 February – 1 March 2025.
More than 40,000 visitors are expected to visit the region, and they will all be enjoying our restaurants, retail stores, accommodation, and everything Taranaki has to offer.
With 4 of the competing teams staying right here in the Stratford district, it’s important for our business community to be prepared for what will be a busy period. Travelling teams can have around 50 competitors, as well as their support staff and whānau with them.
We want to give our kapa haka whānau the best Taranaki experience, and where better to do that than right here in the heart of Taranaki - Te Pumanawa o Taranaki.
Te Matatini o Te Kāhui Maunga also runs between Americana (19 – 22 February) and WOMAD (14 – 16 March), so we are encouraging businesses large and small to make provisions for the influx of visitors.
This is a pivotal moment for local businesses and our community to make the most of the opportunity—be open, stock up, staff up, and extend the Taranaki manaakitanga / hospitality we’re so well known for.
