Central Taranaki Safe Community Trust
Central Taranaki Safe Community Trust aims to ensure that Central Taranaki is a safe place to live, work and play.
We achieve this by managing Central Taranaki Community Patrol, Neighbourhood Support and multiple projects that benefit the Central Taranaki community.
We work with NZ Police, Community Patrols NZ (CPNZ) and Neighbourhood Support NZ. We are also part of Civil Defence emergency operations.
Neighbourhood support
Central Taranaki Safe Community Trust proudly co-ordinates Central Taranaki Neighbourhood Support.
Creating safe, resilient, and connected communities.
We believe in a New Zealand where all people can feel safe in their own communities, know their neighbours, and be prepared for whatever Papatuanuku (Mother Earth) or life throws our way.
If you are not currently a member of one of our Central Taranaki Neighbourhood Support groups, please visit our website www.safetrust.org.nz to register - its completely FREE and benefits are well worth it.
Community Patrollers
In collaboration with various partners, we actively prevent crime and minimise harm through the dedicated presence of trained patrollers. CPNZ’s vision is a New Zealand where everyone feels safe, and our volunteers act as additional 'eyes and ears' for the Police. Through intelligence gathering and keen observation, we assist law enforcement and other agencies in building safer communities.
While independent from the Police, Community Patrols maintain a symbiotic relationship by receiving regular guidance, training, and tasking. This dynamic ensures a cohesive effort towards our shared vision of a safer New Zealand.
We are always looking for more to join our fantastic Central Taranaki Community Patrol team, if you can give a minimum of 4 hours volunteer hours per month, please apply to help us be the eyes and ears for the Police and keep Central Taranaki a safe place to live, work and play.
