Support for community groups

The Wheelhouse

The Wheelhouse is a single point of contact for Taranaki trusts, clubs, societies and groups.

Taranaki has long been a place of social innovation and change, with a strong history of community action.

Building on this legacy, a conversation was started about how our community can be more supported. A community incubator was born, seeking to develop and brew new ideas to take them to completion. Organisations were invited to this conversation and haven't looked back.

The Wheelhouse is a product of this innovation conversation.

Community Directory

Council maintains a community directory which lists groups such as sports clubs; arts and culture, community services, voluntary organisations, leisure activities and much more.

To enquire about the Community Directory contact Council on 06 765 6099.

Residents can also use the Taranaki GROUPS Directory which includes information on organisations from across the region. It is free for community groups to list in this. The information is YOURS, and by registering your group you get your own unique user name and password and you can come back as often as you like to update your own GROUPS information.
