Get ready Stratford district! We’re celebrating Children’s Day on Sunday 2 March 2025 with a FREE swim session from 1pm until 4pm at Wai o Rua – Stratford Aquatic Centre for 100 lucky young people aged 16 years old and under.
Stratford District Youth Council will be hosting and if you get hungry, we’ve got 100 FREE ice-creams available from Mr Kool. (That’s 1 ice-cream for 100 kids btw, not 100 ice-creams for 1 kid.)
It’s first come, first served, so make sure you arrive early and ready for fun.
Thanks to SDYC and Taranaki Electricity Trust for making this event possible!
- To keep kids safe, our normal pool supervision rules still apply during this event. That means kids 5 and under need to have a caregiver 16 years old or over within arm’s reach and kids 6 to 8 years old need to be actively supervised by a caregiver. For every 3 kids under 8 years of age, there needs to be at least 1 supervising caregiver, and all 3 kids must be in the same pool. Find out more at WaiORua.govt.nz
- Children’s Day is a celebration of Aotearoa’s young people and a chance to acknowledge and protect their wellbeing, rights, and potential.
- Don’t want the fun to stop? SDYC’s continuing the Children’s Day festivities with a free Colour in the Park fun run on Sunday 9 March. Take part by yourself or with friends and whanau. All ages welcome.
This isn't our only event for Children's Day. Find out about our FREE Colour in the Park event on Sunday 9 March!
