Kick back and relax in Stratford’s picturesque parks this January for Stratford District Council’s free Summer Nights concert and movie events.

The Summer Nights live concert in the park will be held on Saturday 18 January 2025, from 5pm in King Edward Park.

Taranaki talent, Bald Eagle, will get the party started with their classic rock and roll bangers, followed by New Zealand’s singing sensations, The Lady Killers. National treasures Tina Cross, Jackie Clarke, and Suzanne Lynch will belt out their beautiful harmonies in the idyllic setting of the Ted Mcullough Rhododendron Dell – get ready to go on a wild ride through musical genres and have a good laugh too!

Bald Eagles

The Bald Eagles were formed in New Plymouth during the 1980’s with the view to perform classic Rock and Roll music and have a good time doing it. Don't miss them cranking out the golden oldies/classics and having fun with music in King Edward Park this January 2025.

The Lady Killers

The Lady Killers is a dream team of New Zealand female vocal artists and national treasures. From a whisper to a scream and everything in between, Tina, Jackie and Suzie make beautiful music bursting with harmony.

They belong to a vocal harmony tradition that spans girl groups, gospel, power pop, R&B, jazz, country and a whole lotta rock ‘n’ roll. But a ‘girl group’ they ain’t. They’re well seasoned professional vocalists doing what they do best; singing from the heart and soul.

A Lady Killers performance is a dazzling vocal tour de force full of warmth and wonderful pin drop moments, presented by three women who know how to entertain!

Kai/food options

Food will be available to purchase at the event and you can also bring a picnic from home!

On site we'll have:

  • Mr Kool Icecreams - Lovely soft serve ice-creams
  • Safe Delites - 100% gluten free, main meals and chips, deserts, and coffee.
  • Farmers Grill - Specialising in slow-smoked BBQ along with delicious salads, sides, deserts, and appetisers.

Getting there

Parking is available at Stratford Primary School (gold coin donation) entry from Regan Street via the first driveway before the school - follow the signs.

Parking is also available on local streets and at the War Memorial Centre car park.

There is dedicated accessibility parking along Brecon Road on Saturday between 12.00pm and 8.00pm.

What can you bring

  • Umbrellas and chairs, but we ask that you consider others when setting up so that everyone can have an enjoyable experience.
  • A picnic if you don't wish to purchase food at the event.
  • Alcohol, but please drink responsibly - this is a family friendly event.
