The Whangamōmona Republic Day is on Saturday 18 January 2025.
It's the only destination you can get a passport stamp without leaving New Zealand.
We’ll have loads of activities to get involved in, ever skinned a possum or cracked a whip? Had a ride in a helicopter? You can do it all on Republic Day!
Plus enjoy quick fire raffles, horse and cart rides, sheep racing, vintage car club, and the kids will have a blast in the Kid’s Corner with bouncy castle, face painting and games.

Entry fees:
- $10 for 15 years plus
- $5 for 6-14 year olds
- 5 years and under FREE
Getting there:
Buses will run from the Stratford War Memorial Carpark on the day - but you need to book your seat in advance.

Everyone on the bus will go in the draw to win a Summer Nights picnic for four, filled with tasty treats to enjoy at the free Summer Nights Concert in the picturesque Rhododendron Dell, King Edward Park. Come back from Republic Day, sit back, and relax with live music and (hopefully) your picnic prize! Bus seats are limited, so don’t miss out!
