We've been advised that NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi will undertake roadworks at SH3 Midhirst (between Rutland and Denbigh Roads).
The work will begin on Wednesday 2 October, weather permitting. During this time, there'll be two-way traffic controls with delays of around 5-10 minutes. The work will take approximately 7-8 weeks.
Here are the details:
- Crews will complete a road rebuild on SH3 Mountain Road, north of Midhirst between Rutland and Denbigh Roads from Wednesday 2 October for approximately 7-8 weeks (weather permitting).
- The work involves rebuilding 1.4km of state highway to improve the condition of the road long-term, providing secure and reliable access for communities.
- During this time, the site will be managed under contraflow (two-way) traffic controls, 24/7, with delays of approximately 10 minutes. Where needed, crews may complete work at night under stop/go traffic controls with similar delays.
- Crews will be onsite 6am to 7pm, Monday to Saturday during these works.
- Access to properties and businesses in the area will be maintained, including York Road.
