Long Term Plan a focus at recent Policy and Services meeting
On Tuesday 23 January 2024, the Policy and Services Committee discussed a number of proposals which will make up part of the draft Long Term Plan.
The meeting was a mammoth one, with 25 reports!
The Committee didn’t get through everything on the day and adjourned the meeting at 9.22pm with a resolution to continue on Tuesday 30 January at 9am.
Items that were up for debate at the meeting included:
- Significance and Engagement Policy
- Revenue and Financing Policy
- Housing for the Elderly Policy
- Council-owned earthquake prone buildings
- Forestry differential - Roading Targeted Rate
- Draft Fees and Charges
- Proposed capital projects
- Maintenance contracts for facilities and open spaces
- Disposal of surplus properties
Decisions made by the committee on these matters are recommendations which will go to the full Council on 13 February 2024.
If approved at the full council meeting, the proposals will contribute to the draft Long Term Plan, which will be released for consultation in April 2024.
