Summer Nights outdoor events are back for 2023
Summer Nights, Stratford’s free annual celebration of summer is back on for 2023, in the picturesque King Edward Park.
Stratford District Council (SDC) has announced the line-up, which includes the movies Sing 2 and Top Gun: Maverick on Saturday 4 February.
Popular Taranaki singer songwriter Liana Hart, will open the Summer Nights concert on Saturday 25 February, before AutoMatic80s takes to the stage.
AutoMatic80s are New Zealand’s leading live 80s experience and they love bringing a crowd to life!
Last year’s Summer Nights events were cancelled because of Covid-19 restrictions. Kate Whareaitu, Director of Community Services, says the absence of events last year will make the upcoming Summer Nights feel extra special.
“We’re excited to bring Summer Nights back to our community. Celebrating a kiwi summer again in our beautiful park with whānau, friends and neighbours all around you. Watching movies and listening to live music together, you just can’t get better than that,” says Kate.
“Come and join us for Summer Nights. It’s free, so bring that Aunty that’s visiting and your little cousin too. It’s a great chance to show off your town and what makes us great.”
Food will be available to purchase at both events. People can also bring a picnic from home.
