Stratford celebrates trade graduates
On Thursday 3 November, Stratford District Council (SDC) celebrated the hard work and effort that goes into achieving a qualification and skills training with its annual Trade Graduation Ceremony.
There were 40 local Stratford people who completed a qualification in the last year, with 23 available to attend the ceremony.
The event is always a great celebration says Mayor Volzke. “Watching local people succeed in their desired field of work is very rewarding and something the whole community can be proud of.”
“This celebration is not only for our graduates, but for those who have been part of their journey. We know our graduates have a whole host of people behind them to help get them to where they are today, be that family, friends, mentors or employers – so this celebration is for them too.”
The Trade Graduation ceremony is part of the Mayors Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ) initiative which provides assistance for young people to get in to their chosen training and employment opportunities, as well as support for employers.
Mayor Volzke was joined by SDC Chief Executive Sven Hanne, Michelle Parrett, Age Care Central Nurse Manager, Jo Titchener from Careerforce, Michelle Phelan and Dom Steenstra from Primary ITO, and Angie Gooch, Regional Learning Advisor for Te Mahi Ako to present the certificates.
Congratulations to our 2022 graduates:
