Downer is the road maintenance provider for Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency in Taranaki. As part of this year’s work programme, crews will be completing pre-reseal repairs on State Highway 3, on Broadway between Celia Street and Warwick Road in Stratford (shown in yellow on the attached map). The work is to stabilise patches of the road in preparation for resealing later this season.
Here is what you need to know:
- Work is scheduled to commence on Tuesday 8 March and will take approximately 2 weeks to complete (weather permitting).
- Work crews will be on site between 7.00am to 6.00pm each day.
- Southbound light vehicles will be detoured at Fenton Street, returning to State Highway 3 via Juliet, Celia and Orlando Streets and lastly Hills Road. Given the location of the site, this approach enables crews to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- The detour route is shown in blue on the attached map.
- All northbound traffic, and southbound heavy vehicles will continue to travel on State Highway 3 under stop/go traffic management.
- If access to your property is limited at this time, and you need to travel, please speak with one of our onsite crew and they will assist you.
- Roads along the detour route remain open to two lanes. Any vehicles requiring access to property along the detour route can continue to use it.
Emergency Services: when heading southbound for emergency/priority response, please approach our crew and we will get you through the site promptly and safely.
