Action stations across Stratford projects
Progress is being made with the Aquatic Centre, Bike Park and Second Water Trunkmain projects early in the year.
It hasn’t been a slow start to the year for some of our key infrastructure projects says Chief Executive Sven Hanne.
“We’ve jumped right into construction on the new water trunkmain, which will see a 3.5km long pipe installed once the full project is complete,” he says.
“This additional trunkmain will increase the resilience of our water supply and avoid town shutdowns in the future. It’s been a long time coming and we’re excited to see Stage One of this project now underway.”
The Aquatic Centre development on Portia Street has grown significantly since last year. Roofing has been completed on part of the facility with the remainder not far away. When roofing is complete this will help keep the project on track once the sunny weather comes to an end.
“All going to plan we’ll be making a splash in the new facility by Christmas 2022,” says Mr Hanne.
Over at the Stratford Bike Park we have more artwork being applied to areas of the education cycle track this month so some areas will be off limits for play.
“The specialists required to complete the asphalt on the pump track will be on site from next week, and weather permitting we will have this up and running before the summer is over,” says Mr Hanne.
“We are really pleased with the large amount of use the new facilities in Victoria Park are getting and we appreciate your patience while we get these final touches finished,” he says.
