Say goodbye to overdue fines at the Library
Stratford Library and Visitor Information Centre has removed overdue fines on all books and magazines for library members.
Team Leader, Bridget Roper says, “ We aim to deliver a service that provides free and equal access to information, knowledge, independent learning and the joy of reading for all community members.”
“Overdue fines resulted in a barrier to this goal and we hope removing the burden will increase the use of library services, especially for our young people,” she says.
Books that are not returned 28 days after their due date or are damaged will continue to be marked as lost and a charge added to members’ cards.
Rental fees and overdue fines will continue to be charged for DVDs. “We encourage our members to return books and magazines in a responsible and timely fashion to the Library so others can enjoy our shared resources,” says Bridget.
