Pātea River water-quality test results still show that high levels of harmful bacteria are present in the water, affecting recreational swimming holes through King Edward Park. Unfortunately, it's not safe for you or your pets to swim or enter the water at the moment.
Signage advising people of the risk will remain in place at the river - but it's important to always check whether you can swim before you take a dip.
Please visit the Taranaki Regional Council (TRC) website to see the most up to date water quality testing and results.
We'll update this Public Notice with new updates when we receive them.
