Hollard Gardens

Hollard Gardens is a must for the gardening enthusiast, or anyone who enjoys a gentle ramble in a peaceful atmosphere. This historic garden meanders through an extensive 4.5 hectare property near Egmont National Park. It contains a significant collection of plants with both historical and contemporary bias.
The garden is divided into the Old Garden (1927), the New Garden (1982) and the New Zealand Garden (1992).
The garden was the brainchild of Bernard Hollard (1903-1996) and the first plantings were made in 1927. Today, Bernard's vision has grown into a premier garden growing everything from herbaceous plants to temperate-zone trees and shrubs. A number of the plants are extremely rare.
The garden can cater for large groups of 20 or more people. It is recommended you set aside two hours in order to enjoy the full garden experience.
