The Executive Committee acts on behalf of the full Council when the urgency of a matter makes delaying a decision contrary to the best interests of the Council or community. The Committee’s purpose is to provide consultative advice as per the Property Acquisition and Disposal Policy, and to make decisions without delay.
The Committee is made up of five members of Council with the Mayor as chairman, and meets as required. The Committee reports back to Council.
