Mayoral Christmas gifts for giving

Add to favourites

The traditional Mayoral Christmas gift appeal will be held in December. Mayor Neil Volzke is appealing for people to bring their donated new or pre-loved toys, and gifts to the Council Office and place them under the Christmas tree.

Mayor Volzke says, “As in other years, I’m sure the people of Stratford will support this appeal as best they can. This is just one way to bring a little joy to those less fortunate than many of us and a way for the community to show the true Christmas spirit.”

“Every year the Christmas gift appeal sees many toys and gifts distributed. Last year more than 50 families received Christmas gifts through this appeal. It’s amazing to see the happiness on the kids faces when we turn up at their door with a box of Christmas gifts,” says Mayor Volzke.

Gifts can be placed under the Christmas tree from 1 December at either Council’s Service Centre on Miranda Street or at the Stratford Library until Monday 19 December. Just prior to Christmas, local community service agencies gather with the Mayor and distribute the gifts to children and aged in the Stratford District.

If you know someone who is deserving and in need please contact Liesl Davidson at the Stratford District Council to provide a family name, delivery address, age and gender of family members.

To nominate someone either phone (06) 765 6099, mail to the Mayoral Christmas Gifts, PO Box 320, Stratford 4352 or email: This email address is being protected from spambots.
