Commercial development update

Council has now sold two parcels of land at the Orlando Street commercial development site.   Council purchased the land in early 2012 and sales to date have almost recouped the original cost of the land. Council is currently looking to fill a gully in the north-east part of the section before undertaking further marketing of the site. Council continues to lease the railway shed and storage sheds.

Council has purchased the ANZ building on the corner of Prospero Place and Broadway.  This is a strategic purchase for the longer term as the building is part of the accessway to Prospero Place. Council has no plans for changes at present and intends to continue leasing this building.
