Stratford vandals have shown the District Council that their opinions count too. Recently erected “Have your say” billboards, encouraging residents to have input into the Council’s Long Term Plan, have already come a cropper.
Mike Curry, Promotions Officer for the Council says the first victim was the sign at the Regan / Orlando intersection. “This sign was located next to the church, but that didn’t save it being attacked on the weekend, kicked down from behind.”
“We try to keep rates down but the actions of a few are costing everyone,” Mike says. “The sign was about forestry roads; obviously the vandals have an opinion on this subject. Unfortunately we can’t accept submissions of this nature. Next time they would be better to write something down rather than bash something down.”
Mike says submissions can be made by visiting www.stratford.govt.nz.
