Young people in central Taranaki are settling in to a healthy 2009 thanks to an initiative that has brought a new service to Stratford.
Every Wednesday from now on Marilyn Chittenden, a youth nurse specialist, will be working from the Taranaki Feats building on Juliet Street, Stratford.
Marilyn has been employed by the Ngati Ruanui Health Service to provide clinical support to the wider South Taranaki area, offering full youth assessments. Marilyn’s clinic is dedicated to the wellbeing of young people aged 10-25, and is free of charge.
Marilyn has been working with young people for over 20 years, and is gradually introducing herself to schools, alternative education centres and other youth focused organisations in the area.
This initiative is the result of collaboration between the Stratford District Council, Ngati Ruanui Health Service, Peak Health Taranaki PHO, Haoura Taranaki PHO, Te Tihi Hauora o Taranaki PHO, and Taranaki Feats.
Appointments with Marilyn can be made by calling 0800 505 479.
