WHAT IS THE DISTRICT PLAN?
Mainly covering land use/zoning questions, District Plans are required under the Resource Management Act 1991.
The District Plan is a legal document, with the power of law or regulation, and is binding on all persons, businesses, government bodies, organisations and groups in the District.
The district plan can be viewed on the Taranaki Regional Xplorer. To see the district plan, choose "District Plan" from the "select map type" at the top of the page. From there you can zoom and use the pan tools to find the area and property you want.

DECISION REPORTS
Any person who made a submission on the District Plan Review, including those submissions made on Plan Changes 14 and 15 (Parts I and II of the Review) can appeal a decision made by Council on their submission. Appeals must be lodged with the Environment Court in accordance with the Resource Management Act 1991, 1st Schedule Clause 14. The appeal must be lodged within 30 working days of the date of service of the notification of decisions, i.e., no later than Thursday 26 November 2009.
The Summary of Decisions contains the Council decisions and reasons for those decisions on each submission made on the District Plan Review.

DISTRICT PLAN REVIEW
The Stratford District Plan 2009 is subject to a rolling review programme over the ten years from 2009 through to 2018. This programme covers each of the issues which the District Plan addresses and includes a structural review of the entire Plan.
The first part of the review relates to Indigenous Forest, Climate Change and Energy Efficiency. Work on these issues will commence shortly and information will be available as the review progresses.
