Change of library system

Stratford District Library and South Taranaki LibraryPlus are embarking on a combined software system, Koha that will enable both to share books and other resources.

From Monday 2 December library members will be able to take their Stratford or South Taranaki existing library card into any of the Stratford or South Taranaki libraries to take books out. Users will also be able to return both their Stratford and South Taranaki books to any of these libraries, as well as renewing or reserving books.

Librarian Jonet Moore says, "Intergrating our system with South Taranaki gives users access to a wider range of books and gives users the option to return books to a location most convenient to them."

Stratford Library members will now have the option of being reminded by email before their library books become due. For email reminders take your card into the library and have your details updated. Borrowers who already have a card for both Stratford and South Taranaki can choose which one they would like to keep. The Stratford online library catalogue will look different but library members are still able to check and renew what they have out with the same card number and password.
